My 1st attempt at this... it's better than building bikes from boxes of parts...I can do that blind folded.
This is my past 2 months.... damn things running like new puppies from boxes..
I have to blue the bbls... 50 and a .54, clear the brass and tung oil the stock.
I traded an old $50 Mossberg single 12 ga. for this.
It's been a blast for an old crip'd, nearly blind guy.
I want to do more!!!!
English Chestnut is the stain color.
Yeah, I'm familiar with 'This is my rifle, this is my gun... etc." I just didn't know how to refer to that weapon. Rifle, it is! Look forward to having you back, and the pics of your nw hobby when it's finished.
Damn this stuff(Blue Wonder) stinks..backed up septic tank type stink, with the chemical mixes.
Metal temp is the key, 120-140*'s.. I've found so far. I just keep my oven about 160*...and the bbls fit which is excellent.
I just did 1 rail for a ramrod to see if I can follow directions..if that flies...I'll do the .54bbl tonight. The rest when I get back.
Man this stuff stinks, but as I'm doing it by the oven I use the hood fan to lessen that.
