besides the local junkyard or buying a carb new (which i dont want to spend the money on) where can i get a motorcraft 2100 on the cheap??
i looked on ebay, cheapest was 100, but some of them dont look exactly like mine... reason i need a new carb is because i took mine off and i lost 1 piece and i dont feel like trying to repair it or find the one i lost in the grass
I would just buy a new one and be done with it, i recently purchased one from National Carbureator for $154.75, worked fine right out of the box. You can buy directly from them or they supply rebuilt carbs to Advance and AutoZone, i am sure they supply to other parts stores, these are two i remeber.

yeah i saw that website last night, how long was shipping and processing on it, autozone was freakin insane!
if you can tell me what piece it is you need i have about 3 carbs in the garage that i use for parts and such.
thank you
i found a guy on craigslist with a random mercury carb, turned out it was very similar to the motorcraft 2100, im thinking 2150? plugged it on top, fired right up... now i got other problems
The nice thing about rebuilt carburetors is they replace the throttle shaft bushings
Old carbs seem wear out and leak out the bushings causing rough running problems
the one i got wasnt a rebuilt.... it was sitting in the basement of a guys house for 23 years he said, took it off his old merc and kept it for the core to turn back in, just never did, said he was getting a divorce and was making sure to clear it all out before she got her hands on anything....

There aren't throttle shaft bushings on a 2100/2150. If the throttle shaft bores are extremely worn, the shop will bore and bush the throttle shaft as a repair method. But they don't come that way originally.
I'd only buy a remanufactured carburetor as an absolute last resort. You have no idea what you're getting and how well the job was done.
What part did you lose? I'd rather spend some time looking through the grass than shell out $150 for something that can end up more trouble than it's worth.
