What are the best battery to use in our trucks?I was looking at the optima battery but they are real high.I do use them in my boat and they work great. Thanks you all
I personally think the Optimas are over priced and have a short warranty. For half the price you can go to Auto Zone and get a 1,000 cca battery with a 3 yr. replacement 8 year prorated battery.

i look at auto zone i only seen a 850 cca and it was 1,000 rca. which one was it the one i was looking at was a yellow battery.
I have gone through 2 sets of optimas. I was told they were the best, yes they were good but didnt seem to last that long. I change out my batteries way before they need to but I never have had a dead battery either. I am using a 1000cca battery now and it seems to work as well as the optimas but were a few bucks less.

That's the one. Their top of the line. Usually between 95 and 105 bucks. Another good thing about AZ wether you like them or not is that they are everywhere and open on Sundays and most holidays.

If you not looking to spend a ton of money the Motorcraft batteries seem to hold up fairly well for the money and have a decent warranty. Besides the OEM 750 CCA they are also available in 850 CCA and 900 CCA. The 900 CCA used to have a 4 year replacement warranty, but I am not sure if that is still the case...
If your willing to spend a little more and want something really good, look at the Diehard Platinum P-2 battery which is made for them by Odyssey. 930 CCA. 4 year replacement / 100 month pro-rated. They run about $175 each and are well worth it...
I'm sure I'm in the minority but I have used Wall Marts best around $75.00 ea and have had excellent service. Have had only one to go bad not in my 6.0 diesel. I replace them in a pair approx every 3 years just to make sure the batteries are good. Then use the old batteries in my 5th wheel as it tends to wear out batteries sitting unused for months probally.
I know. It all started as a blown EGR cooler. Then after reading all of the things I decided to do all of the upgrades I could. It getting everything from ARP headstuds to SCT valve and a new radiator as its seeping a bit. To testing injectors and a new water pump beings we are in this far. Oil cooler, t stat, some other ABC valve. A ton of work but figured it was cheaper then a new one at 60G

I went with the (2) DieHard Platinum Group 65, 48 month replacement, 52 month prorated for 100 month total. I've always had good luck with the DieHards.
I had good luck with my Motorcraft Batteries lasted 7 years. So I purchased another set of 750's. Cost was 113.45 each from local dealer about 6 months ago!!
i think mine have 1100 cca each. they spend the starter pretty fast. silly question i guess but its no such thing as too much battery is there?? the starter really goes... thanks.
