Axle Question

I would like to know if the dana 44 that is in my truck is good enough to handle my eng. I am putting in a 351W with an AOD. It well be pretty much stock, small cam,headers and intake. It well be a crusier not every day us. I well rebuild the whole rear end.

You should be fine with the original - they're tough.

It's the brake stands and sticky tires on launches that breaks things.

Well I was looking at the rear axle and checked for play and found some so I took the cover off and found the ring gear loose on the carrier and the bolt that holds the spider gear pin in broken. I know the holes in the carrier well be elongated. So I think it is best to look for a 9"
