Dash Swap
So me and a friend are looking into buying a '05 250 that's been totaled and using it for spare parts. I'm wanting to see if I can take the dash from it and replace my '99-'04 dash with the '05-'07 dash. Just looking at it, the only thing that looks like it might give some issues is the climate controls. The earlier models had ***** and the newer trucks went to digital readouts and actual buttons. Does anybody know if the plugs would be the same and everything would work the same if I took my old one out and plugged the new climate controls in? Can this part of the swap be done?

Yeah I posted this thread in the 6.0 forum and a guy told me that about his truck. I'm hoping I could possibly have it rewired so that I can replace my gauges with the 05s, the digital thermostat, and possibly be able to change steering wheels to be able to get the radio controls.

here are the issue i saw when i contemplated it. the spedo on the 05+ uses a dlc? cable which is similar to say a dsl cable supplying the info to the dash panel. the 03-04 trucks are more or less hard wired. now what i have seen is some one use the 99-04 cluster and the dash and it was hardly noticable. the hvac duct work is different so you will have to use that. the lariat and up packages have steering wheel controls that do cruise, radio and climate controls. i would expect it to be a pita but do able. it would very likely be easier to use the 99-04 cluster swap the ac duct work and shoot for the **** style hvac controls.
