Do all SDs come with helper springs? Mine has none, why would someone remove them? I'm guessing air bags, I assume it was used for towing a 5th wheel, as the rails are still there.
If that is the only reason you all can think of as well, would it make the most sense to install another as opposed to replacing the helpers? Or is it no big deal to leave it as is?
It was an option on the 250's I owned two, one with (gas), one without.(diesel)
It was also an option on the 350's IIRC it was part of a camper package.
My 99 350 DRW has them, my bosses 01 f350 DRW does not.
It's definitely worth having those overload springs. I've heard them slap the stops going through a dip with a load a couple times. I wouldn't take mine off.
Wow Thanks Jim, awesome offer. Also I don't even have the stops on mine, so I would have to find those as well.
If I decide to get airbags, would I have to remove them? I can't tell by looking at the pictures I've seen.
Why did you remove yours Jim?
as of November 1st you can have the stops also
i took them off when i did the drop on my truck
im pretty sure u can have air bags and overloads ... the bags mount on the spring perch tops so i should not matter
if it doesnt work id be willing to help u make a mount so that they will, im currently engineering a mount for a used system a friend bought
