I see in the repair manual advice on fitting the upper/rear glass channel, specifically 'trim-to-fit' at the divison bar end..but how about the other end? mine seem to be a tad too long-,about 3/8" to fit into the 2 clips on the 'glass run retainer', the piece that mounts to the lock side of the door..I'm guessing there could be differences in manufacture..but I'm ready to cut.
Also ,since I'm asking dumb questions..looking at both channel retainers on the bench..they look to be identical..theres an off-set at the bottom of each (two screw mounts) and they appear to be the same..what? No Lt and RT? After some time spent trial fitting..they both seem to fit (except being too long as mentioned above)..just wondering about glass breakage if using the wrong parts Thanks!
If I'm understanding you, there is a left and right to the pieces you discribed with the 2 screws at the dog legs and should be a single screw at the top of that bracket. The window channel fits flush at the bottom and is held there by a tooth. Hope this is of some help.John
Thank's John,..I thought I had 2 identical pieces ..,any idea which one goes where?
I can force-fit just about anything .. LoL! Looking at the pictures in the repair manual " real close "',..that lower 'dog-leg ' you mentioned looks like it faces "inboard" on the pass door....
I suspect I have two RT sides..
I'm still ready to cut the lower end of the channel to fit in the two clips you described too !! Sometimes I wish I could have started with a complete vehicle, just to see how this thing came apart...and put the same parts back in LoL! ... Pound Puppies are a learning experience
Take it easy this weekend,.rest up for Tuesday..wishing you the Best! and Thank's for the info!
