2008 EATC self test

I have read somewhere, whether on here or elsewhere not sure of, about the EATC self test procedure for diagnostic test on the EATC in the 2008-10 SD's. Something about turning the key on, pushing the auto and maybe another button at the same time, then another button. The AC system will go through a diagnostic and actuate the doors of the ductwork, valves, and display any trouble codes. I found one for a 2006, but that procedure doesnt work on my 08. They changed something. Anyone? PLEASE? Thanks in advance.

Got a noise coming from in there Tom. Cant seem to isolate it. I know there is a procedure for running a self-diagnostic test on them by hitting a couple buttons and then the doors and valves energize and any DTC codes will display. Ive done it before but cant seem to find it.

try off and defrost at the same time, then Auto within 2 seconds. Maybe that was it.

Dragging this back up.

I tried the procedure above. It didn't work. Anybody have any ideas? My fan doesn't blow all the time. Just when it wants to.

I got the procedure to work once, and despite the help from Senix and alot of internet searching, I can't for the life of me find it again. I know you turn the key on, push a couple of buttons for about 5 seconds, then release them and push another one, and it lights up every led on the screen of the climate control, energizes all the doors and actuators, goes through a few checks, and if there is a code it will present it. After finishing, it will simply turn back off. Ive sat out there and tried every button combo I can think of and cant get it to do it. I tried PM'ing cheezit, cuz I think he's a mechanic, but no luck getting to him. I wish I could find out how to do it again cuz this noise is driving me crazy. I love the sound of a diesel. For years before I became a Flight Medic I was a Paramedic and drove an ambulance, so when Im in the truck I rarely listen to the radio and just listen to the engine running. Music to MY ears.

Try this:

To enter the self-test, press the OFF and FLOOR buttons simultaneously and then press the AUTOMATIC button within two seconds. The display will show a pulse tracer going around the center of the display window. The test may run as long as 30 seconds. Record all DTCs displayed.
If any DTCs appear during the self-test, follow the diagnostics procedure given under ACTION for each DTC given.
This is for a Crown Vic, but the system may be the same...

What's going on with your ac? Why the need for the test? I've did it once on my 08 but can't remember the procedure. I do remember that when I did the self test it still didn't show my issue, which was a door actuator under passenger side.

My fan doesn't blow. From the code list I've seen I don't think the test would show anything wrong with the fan. I'll start digging under the hood this evening to see what I can find.
