Installing an O2 sensor

I do not have an O2 sensor on my truck anymore sense it was removed when I put the duel exhaust on. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how to put it back on again or is this even possible.

THANKS

Installing an O2 sensor

Is it a true dual exhaust or Y-pipe from the catalytic converter back?

Installing an O2 sensor

Considering the location of the O2 sensor, with true duals it will be difficult to get an accurate O2 sensor mounted in the truck. The sensor was originally mounted in the Y-pipe where the two pipes merge so as to obtain exhaust readings from BOTH cylinder banks. Without a crossover pipe in your duals, even if you mount an O2 sensor in one pipe, you will only get an accurate reading from HALF the engine, in essence half the exhaust. Now if you are running a crossover (I've seen it referred to as an "H" pipe as well), that would be the ideal location for one.

Later model Bronco's I believe 96's had multiple O2 sensors but they also had different emmissions control systems. There may be a way to run more than one sensor but if there is I don't know the procedure. My guess would be that there is no provision for running multiple O2 sensors on vehicles originally equipped with only one.
