Transmission Fluid Flush DITY ?
I replaced my radiator as colant was entering my transmission and I would like to flush the transmission lines & fluid. I am wondering which fluid line is the input to the transmission and which one is the output? I see the line going from the upper port on the transmission connects to the top of the radiator and bottom port goes to bottom of radiator. Does anyone know which line sucks in fluid and which one discharges out?
I don't have a pump to do a fluid flush and not sure how shops do it, but why can't I:
Leave both lines unplugged at the radiator and submerge the intake line in gallons of new fluid, start the truck and let the fluid pass, collecting the used fluid (output line) into another bucket. Stop when it is finally dark red & clean.
btw... I have read the posts about draining the pan and TQ and not needing to flush but I would prefer to cycle out all the old fluid if possible, which is diluted & pink at this point.
Thanks for any feedback...
This is exactly what I need... thank you!
