i have a 1966 f350 with a 390 2barrel, it also has a granny low 4 speed, what i need to know is what transmission i have. or were can i look to find out. i believe the motor and trans are the origianal equip. i'm also looking for an auxlary pto to power a pto winch i plan on putting under the flat bed so i will have a way to load trailer on the farm.
A trans code off the Warranty data plate would help... it might be on the drivers door by the latch, or glove box door, i not 100% sure where it is on a 350.

The TRANS code is listed on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.
F = Borg Warner T-18.
N = New Process 435 - Reverse is back-towards the seat.
The only V8 available in 1965/67 F100/350's was the 352 2V.
If your truck does have a 390, it was swapped in.
On sale day, 352 engines magically become 390's.
Measuring the stroke will determine the size: 352 = 3.50" // 390 = 3.78"
thanks, i will check it out and the hard part on finding a auxillary pto for the trans. if anyone has one let me know. or of any place online i can look.
i checked the warrant number and its f35yk775175 the other numbers are 32m f350 281 a 22 100?0 172 4000 63 i checked the trans and it has a aluminum top so i was told it was a np435 if i'm wrong let me know and reverse is over right and down.
I love my old truck it has a flat bed on it and is stout as an ox and as slow as one as well (top speed 45 mph). i only use it around the farm and for hauling fire wood. i found a pto online and i'm going to call about it monday , they are around 150.00 . i want to mount the winch under the flat bed so i can pull broken down tractors onto trailers and trees out of the woods i'm try to get some pics of the old girl on here. if you want to hear more about the old truck i'd be happy to talk about her some more.
