not idleing correctly

my 1989 ford f150 idles irregularly, and at stop signs it usually turns off???

First off...welcome to our world.You will find alot of folks here that are happy to help.
With that being said,I suggest you post your question in the proper area of this site.
Being as old as your truck is,its likely carbeurated,or at least OBDI,and in either case you will get better responses asking the guys/gals that have machines in your era.
You will also need to supply more info concerning engine size,tranny,miles showing,and any "mods" that have been done.

It is efi. More than likely it is a bad IAC valve. (Idle Air Control) located on the throttlebody.

But before doing anything fancy just go and buy a can of Throttle Body cleaner (NEVER use carburetor cleaner on a TB) , follow the instructions in the back of the can...
