I have heard of it done. You loose the window and the mirrors sit higher than the ones in these pics.
I don't think I would like it. This job looked butchered up for sure. Is that duct tape where the window was?
These were obviously mounted lower to make them more usable but with them hanging down over the door it looks terrible in my opinion.
I don't like it either like that. Looks like #2. I think it's wood painted white. I guess if it was in the full window slot it would look better but not be near as functional.
I have thought about this before. And after looking at it, i believe chevrolets version of fords big mirrors would look better. I think that the square lines of that mirror would look better, instead of the round ones of the ford.
