Angry front brakes

another question about disc brake conversions. I just put a disc brake front end under my 72 f-250 4x4. The brakes dont seem to be working properly. The front end came out of a 74 f-250. Do I need to use the power booster , master cylinder and proportioning valve from the 74 ? My truck was set up with power brakes . It just does'nt feel like they work as good as expected. Thanks. M Vee.

I'd think you would need the proportioning valve, but I'm not 100% on that. Your booster and master cylinder should be fine. I can't imagine that between 72-74 or so they'd be significantly different. Might want to doublecheck your vacuum too, make sure the booster is getting plenty. Discs should make a big improvement, especially if they're the dual caliper style.

Yes you need the proportioning valve that is for the disk brakes rather than the drums for sure.
