6.0 blues

So here is the problem...
My boss bought a 2004 e-350 cube van with the 6.0 powerstroke. I told him its a great engine as long as you take care of it and don't mod much. He promptly put a chip on it, right after it started blowing white smoke. The egr is bad/leaks and apparently there was another leak in the coolant system? He wasn't specific on that. Long story short, after extensive work in the cube of the truck to get it ready for us to use, the engine massively overheated, dead truck. We live in Eau Claire, WI (northwest wisconsin) any body have an idea for engine replacement/rebuild cost and someone close to us to do? Any help would be great. Thanks!

ya for a econobox between 35-40 hours labor to r/i and about 14k for a complete engine with turbo.

You also have to remember that the E-series van(if I recall correctly) has more heat issues which is why those 6.0s are detuned from the factory versus the 6.0s that are in the F-Series trucks.

I really wouldn't tune those, because heat is really an issue. Unless y'all can fab something that would compensate, but I don't know if the reward is going to be worth the scratch to get it done.
