Fuel Filter

Now that I will be soon operating my 223 with a new tank, fuel line, and rebuilt carb, does it really matter where my fuel filter should be installed? Right now, its before the fuel pump. Thanks.

They're cheap...put one on both sides of the fuel pump.

If you get one of those larger "barrel types" and install it laying on it's side at the low point of your fuel system - like the line coming from the tank - it will trap any water and hold it.

Put a second - smaller one between the pump and carb.

One installed just before the carburetor serves a second purpose. The filter cools the fuel down before it goes into the carburetor and prevents vapor lock!
