easy performance

alright guys, what do you think would be the best power upgrade for an 87 carbureted 302? and the cheapest too?

A cam is the cheapest upgrade and also the one that will have the biggest impact but it's certainly not the simplest... you have to strip the motor right down to the bare longblock. The next best upgrade is exhaust but that's just icing on the cake in comparison, it won't change the powerband like a cam will. Everything else falls into the barely noticable to pointless category until you get into changing the heads and intake.

A mild performance cam and a bit more valve spring pressure along with a good under 600cfm 4V carburetor.

Heck a 2V 500cfm would make it flat out scream.
