Alright I finally installed my gauges and I'm a lil bummed! I thought I would be making way more boost than I am. The gauge doesn't move at all, unless I STOMP on it big time!
Is this normal? Could I have a leak somewhere? Please give me some feedback. What is the normal boost psi for the stock turbo?
what kind of gauge?? where did you tap into??you should make at least 18 or you would be blowing a lot of black smoke and no power......check everything you did...make sure its all installed right..
I tee'd into the vacuum line off of the MAP sensor, the truck runs great and no power problems at all. Thats why I am so confused. It a GlowShift gauge... I am almost positive everything is installed correctly. I am just baffled!
You make most of your boost under power. That is why boost is low till you stomp on it. Put a trailer behind it and see what it does. It will make boost then. If you want more boost all the time change the canster to a big head from banks or such or bite the bullet and get a dp tuner f5, f6 or so and it will increase your power and boost as needed. It will feel like you have a new truck. I've had the SC tuner and it can't hold a candle to dp. Stock boost down the hiway 3 to 4 pounds lucky without a load. With a trailer stock turbo 18 pounds maybe. I'm sure some will tune in shortly, Good luck and God Bless, Chet

lol what he said.... did you drive this to find out?? or just stomp on the go peddle in park??
Normal driving take offs i usually see 5ish.. I think on the thruway at 65 on cruise it will hover around 2ish.. My max is 16. Stock.. no tuner. Normal driving it really don't do much activity especially just sitting in the driveway revving. Have to drive it to see it move.
Hook up the 5th wheel, And every thing goes up.. Big time..
Watch out for the boost gauge. My wife calls it the 5$ gauge.. Every time that thing moves it cost us $5.00 in diesel fuel.. lol
like said above..you can only build boost while driving..if everything is hooked up right..and you have plenty of power...then it must be the gauge...wouldn't be the first time I have seen bad luck with glow shift gauges...you could build a leak detector put 10-15 LBS of air to the system and see if the gauge works or if there are any leak's
