Floor insulator?

I've noticed my recently purchased '95 F250 seems a bit noisy inside. Also seems to be missing something previous 9th gen trucks I've owned had....an insulation mat underneath the seat.

It has the floormat, and some insulation below that.....but nothing except cab metal under..and behind the seat.

Is my memory slipping....or should there be a floor insulation mat underneath the seat?

Trucks with the xlt package have sound deadning matting on the whole floor and also the rear of the cab to the window and also had carpet to cover all of that. Sounds like your truck has the lower options which only had some sound deadning material and carpet covering only half the cab floor.Do like i did and go to your local junk yard and try to find a clean interior from an xlt truck. You will need all the interior trim panels plus all the carpet as the panels are different and are required to hold the carpet in place.

I spent 50 bucks for an entire interoir, thats carpet and all trim granted the junk yard let me strip it myself for a cheaper price.Once i had stripped my interoir i sprayed the floor and rear of cab with bed liner. i cleaned the carpet while it was out. then put new interior back in. all said and done i spent 75 for parts and materials and spent about 5hours doing the swap. Looks and sounds awesome. even get comments on how quiet the ride is.

I don't understand why Ford didn't make the factory vinyl carpet go all the way to the back of the cab. My previous 95 XL had some type of insulation under the seat. I replaced the carpet in my 95 XLT with XL vinyl carpet. Since I didn't have anything under the seat I used a part of and extended cab rubber carpet with the jute backing under the seat.

Hmmm....Both my other trucks were 1992 F250 Customs. The first one a 4x4...and the next a diesel. I believe the 4x4 came out of Louisville Kentucky..the diesel I think was from Norfolk (I drove this one a long time).

I'm positive both these had a full cab floor mat....and I remember the 4x4 having a cover panel on the cab back(I had bought this one new in 1991).

This latest F250 is a XL, and is Canadian made. Even has labels in French and English. You'da thunk they would have insulated the cab!....Makes me wonder how this truck got to Oklahoma?

Maybe the Canadians didn't think it needed much insulation in Oklahoma. Moot point now.

I think I'll get some sort of insulation mat on the floor, and tighten up the fit of the drivers door..and have a nice quiet truck.
