Apparently my truck didn't like the right rear hubcap and tossed it somewhere without telling me over the last day or two - neighbour just noticed for me.
Should be a warranty claim I should think. Will have to see the dealer on Monday.
The cap was probably not seated well by who ever installed it during PDI at the dealer. It happens and I would think/hope that the dealer would take care of it...
When I took delivery of mine they were all loose. I diddn't notice till I got home. I just gave them all a kick and they've stayed just fine.
Didnt buy my truck new, but last time i had the tires alinged, all the caps where loose and had to give them a kick, i'd check to make sure they are all on right anytime they come off for alingment/balancing
Back when I bought mine in 2007 I ended up losing 3 at different times because the dealership wasn't putting them on right after rotating, they replaced every one of them and they are not cheap (Harley Davidson caps). Just like on my '03 7.3L EVERYTIME they do the oil change I end up getting the next one free because they hand tighten the oil filter and it's leaking when I pick it up.
Quick update - dealer replaced the cap and they were installed incorrectly - the caps can actually go on incorrectly as outlined in the OWNER's MANUAL. If you put them on incorrectly, they will seem like they are on right as they will click into place but you will be able to pull them off by hand.
In my case the caps were originally installed by the dealer at PDI - you'd think they should know better but they probably have the wash boy doing the PDI so.... YMMV. When I got the replacement cap I installed it and also reinstalled the one that originally was put on wrong but had not fallen off yet.
I don't think this is an issue with caps on the fronts with hubs but it would be on any 4 x 2 models since the caps are the same all around on the 4 x 2.
