Dagmar was a British TV personality. Someone noticed that the Cadillac pointed bumper guards resembled a part of her anatomy.

It wasn't too long (pun intended) before all the 1948/58 Cadillac, 1955/58 Packard/Clipper and all other bumper guards that came to a point, became known as Dagmar's.

I thought Dagmar (the woman) was from West Virginia. And compared to what you usually saw on television in the 50s, she was considered to be attractive.

I believe you are correct.

There seems to be some folks here who are judging beauty by hair, makeup and lighting of the day, which made women look much different from today's version of beautiful. At least that's mho.

Who wouldn't think these women attractive.

Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Myrna Loy

In the "Post great Pictures" thread on the HAMB there are a bunch of casual pictures of regular women back in the '40's and '50's, it's striking how even with the sometimes weird hairdo's, these women have a wholesomeness missing today. No tattoos or nose rings, either.

Looks like J. C. "Aggie" Agajanian, race car owner and promotor (Novi's at Indy for one example), promoted a lot of races here in SoCal.

'Course I was wrong about Dagmar's nationality, but I'm pretty sure this is Aggie.

I wonder what was going through his mind at that time? The thoughts must be very philosophical.
