Auto Tranny

06, F350 6.0 Bought used from Gibson Truck World in Sanford FL. The first Ford i have ever owned. 80,000 miles. I have a concerned question about the auto tranny. In D, it runs like a scalded dog, but when you try and take off in 1, 2, or 3 it seems as if it doesn't want to move and/or have any power. My question is; is this typical of this transmission or do i have something going wrong?

Thanks,

We need more information.

When you say "it doesn't want to move and/or have any power" do you mean the engine doesn't rev up (like the throttle is disconnected) or do you mean the engine revs and the transmission slips?

Is there an aftermarket tuner on your truck?

I can't explain why you notice a difference in 1st, but when it is in 2nd or 3rd, your starting in the selected gear.

Transmition

My 05 is the same. I just keep in D(Drive).
The other selections I use for towing and locking into one gear.
