Again...And Again...Another problem, Hard start

I am having a different kind of hard start now. When I start my truck cold or hot, it turns over and tries to start then shuts off, I hold the key again the second time till the rpms start goin higher and then it will stumble up the rpms and idle...Then I'm sitting at a red light about 5 minutes later and the truck starts jumpin up and down from 640 to 600 to 660 in rpms.I could feel it kick a little like somebody was behind the truck tapping the bumper with their car. I was thinking maybe FICM? another ICP and ICP Harness?

Can you give us a run down of what you have fixed at this point?

By what you describe, it sounds like a fuel pressure issue. Are you using factory Ford/Motorcraft fuel filters or aftermarket?

Yeah not a problem.. it was at the dealership about a 2 weeks ago for IPR, HPOP, EGR Cooler, and right before it died and went in for that I replaced ICP sensor..I also just changed the oil with 5w 40 Rotella and motorcraft oil filter and changed both fuel filters. Put two brand new batteries in it 2 days ago. I dont know what now, I have an appointment set up with Ford on monday since they just did 3000 dollars worth of work and it didnt fully fix the problem.. Im not blaming them because it seemed ok for a little but its now acting up again...

Have you ever had your fuel pump replaced yet? You could also have a weak fuel pump. Monitoring your fuel pressure when it acts up will tell you if your pump is weak too.

I dont have a gauge for that, would Ford be able to narrow that down

Had the exact same thing happen with a truck I just fixed. Started with an exhaust leak into the fuel rail, replaced 2 injectors, and still wouldn't run correctly. Checked fuel pressure--45psi at idle and wouldn't hold a load. Raised the fuel pressure to 62--problem solved. Did have one more bad injector (replace one wrong--don't ask). Replaced the other two and truck runs perfectly now AFAIK.

Yes they can, but they have to tap into your fuel system also as the PCM doesn't read fuel pressure. You can probably purchase an adapter hose and manual gauge for the same $$ or less than an hour labor at the dealership.

Ok so new symptom to help narrow this down possibly. When I am crusing down the road around 45-50 miles an hour with my rpms around 1500 I put a load on the pedal and it tries to climb but instead shakes the whole truck. I let off and the truck stops shaking it down shifts and goes to around 21 2200 rpms and doesnt have as much of a load and drives fine. Does this help at all with what it could be?

Long shot but the 1st thing I would try is a set of stock fuel filters.

That's the worst spot of the power band for a 6.0 IMHO. How's your turbo? I'm still thinking fuel pressure needs checked first.
