Trim Question

I am getting ready to start getting my truck ready for paint. I am removing all the trim, and was wondering how hard it is to put the new trim clips on? I'm wanting to remove all the trim clips as well, and replace them with new ones. The problem is I'm not sure how they attach. They look as though they are either rivited on, or put on with a stud welder. I feel kinda stupid asking this sence I am a body man, but I've never had to replace trim clips like this before. Thanks for your help.

Josh

The plastic yellowish clips?

No, they slide into place with the riveted stud holding them. You slide them one way to remove, the opposite to install. Easy.

The doors have two studs with a nut on the end, (you don't have to remove door panels to access them) also there are a few of those on the upper trim and racertrac as well, once you remove those the trim should slide one way & pop off. Unfortunatly I ruined some of my racetrac trim before I realised that. Take your time

Also, if anyone has the trim off of there truck right now, I am going to replace the trim on my truck with the race track trim, and need to know where exactly to drill the holes for the extra clip I'll need behind the rear marker lights, and in front of the front marker lights. Here is a pic of the trim that I have on my truck now, I like the race track trim better.

Thanks,
Josh
