I got some good straight aluminum trim that runs down the body line that pulled off a truck just wondering what it might be worth or if it is even worth anything? Thanks!
For full racetrack sets in really good condition with minimal oxidation, I've seen them in the $300 range. If it's in 30+ year old condition and cloudy...maybe $100.
Upper sets inside the dent and can have rubber insert or just plain.
Lower is installed along the bottom of the fenders and doors.
Racetrack is curved and follows the contour of the fenders and attaches to the upper in the rear. Yours wouldn't have race track since that came out in mid 77.

Just because it wouldn't be original...doesn't mean he wouldn't have it. Seems to me, the racetrack trim was a pretty popular thing to add...and I can't even begin to count how many rigs I've had or looked at that shouldn't have racetrack trim.
I sold a complete set of thin aluminum dent trim in excellent conditon w/ the clips for $200. Not sure what it's worth, but the catalogs list the set with the rubber insert for well over $600 new.
I got 2 sets of bed mouldings for free just by asking for them. And I've bought trucks that had complete sets for less than $200. And that included a free truck.
I have the upper race track in the dent. It cleans up really good with a little polish and scrubbing.
For the record...the polish won't do anything. The scrubbing probably did the majority of the work and got rid of whatever crud and dirt was on the trim. The trim is anodized, so you'd have to strip it and then polish before you get rid of the haze/cloudiness.
