Cruise not working
My cruise control lights up on the dash when I push the set button but light doesn't stay on and the cruise doesn't work. Any ideas what could be wrong or how to diagnose. Also the dash cruise light only comes on when the headlights are on. In daylight no dash cruise light is visible.

What year X's were covered under the recall? My cruise would of shut off while driving and on our last trip quit working all together. I called the dealer I bought it from and he told me no recall was listed under 2003 Excursions.

Well,mine is 2002 and the recall was performed at the dealer.
Many other guys here had it done.
Recall was for CC cut off switch on master brake cylinder.
Use a search option in here and you'll find lots of info about it.

The recall placed a fused short harness between the pressure switch and the vehicle harness. Check to see is one is installed. My cruise control went out some time back. Finally replaced the Master Cylinder pressure switch (which came with a new short harness) today, and system is operational.
