Oil analysis back

There is something VERY wrong here. I really suspect a bad analysis. First, the FE is iron.Granted it is a new engine but 42 ppm is high. Also the SI jumps off the page and says something here is wrong as well. SI= silicone(read dirt). I would check the car to make sure it has an air filter element in the filter box as 39 ppm is off the scale for 310 miles. I would suggest that you change the oil again after 1000 miles and have it analysised again. I don't think the report is accurate.

Oil analysis back

I wouldn't worry. A test on the next oil change would be more informative. Mass produced engines are not assembled in a "clean room" environment, so there may be some casting sand and machining particles still left behind, hence the iron and silicon. The moly could be from the factory-fill oil or from the new piston rings.

Oil analysis back

This is totally normal. Iron, copper, lead, and tin are high because new metal surfaces are mating together. The silicone is evaporation of the sealants used on the gaskets. GM products are known to be notoriously high in copper values in oil analyses, too. Copper, lead, and tin are metals in the bearings.

Don't worry about it.

Change your oil again at 1000 miles and test. Numbers will drop. Eventually you will see the values stabilize, particularly if you are careful to change your oil and filter scrupulously, depending on your driving habits and climate in which you drive.
