Anybody know of a place capable of re-anodizing the side trim pieces on the 64.My pieces are all original, just that the red has been waxed off over the years.Thanks.
Scott
Hemmings sounds like it would be a good source. Did some checking with local anodize shops but found only few, if any, will strip then reanodize. Might check with couple plating shops in your area with a good reputation. Also, found some advertise they reanodize but when asked about the process they remove the anodize then polish and apply a coat of clear; Faiths Chrome in So. Bay does this, and also with some seller's on ebay, just make sure and ask. Had some chrome work done by Superior Chrome in San Jose, they will strip the anodize then farm reanodize out, they stand by the work, get quality but not cheap.
Not sure what part of Ca. located, during the summer there's a few sponsers who tour up and down the state and put on car shows and or swap meets. If get a chance to attend the 'Goodguys Rod and Custom' weekend event; there are entire sections for venders, rod and custom displays, classic auto sales, and most important, fellow enthusiast more than willing to share info. and resources. Can go to their website for their schedule. I tend to hang out in the swap meet section, have come home with a number of hard to comeby items, tools, etc.. Usually can't see everything in a day. Anyhow, food for thought.
Scott, I should have check their schedule before commenting, appears the closest Goodguys gets to your area is Costa Mesa and that was in May. They are scheduled for No. Ca., Pleasanton, week after next, and again in Nov. As you are probly aware, there's quite a large following of vintage classic owners in your area; visited family in Rancho Mirage 2-3 yrs. ago and treated to an annual auto show in Palm Springs, it was either in Oct. or Nov., and imazed at the number of local entries; and as noted, warehouse of resources and info.
Thanks again Dave for all the info.I'll have to do some snooping around down there.I have quite a few contacts from working down there.Should be able to find something.I appreciate it.
