94 F250 Turbo. Fuel appears to bleed out within 15 minutes of shutting off. No telltale signs of fuel leakage anywhere. I just replaced the filter/separator with no change. Was thinking of replacing return lines but the pictures of the kits I see are not what is on the truck. Instead there are three plastic caps with two right angle fittings, two with straight through fittings, two with three fittings, and one with one fitting. What do I have?? Any help would be appreciated.
Just went through this one seall... What you're seeing is the difference from N/A to turbo. On the turbo engines, the return lines were modified so that the crossover from left to right banks was in front of the intake rather than behind, to get the lines away from the exhaust heat near the turbo. Ford did this using the three-way caps you're seeing... the N/As have no three-ways.
I had to replace mine, but I haven't seen any kits with the three-ways, as they're all designed for the the N/A engines. Instead I used the two-way caps from the kit plus two hose tees and clamps to crossover just forward of the original three-way caps. You also need to put a plug over one of the two-ways to create that one-way fitting. Works just fine.
I actually got the tees from my Banks turbo kit, you have to re-arrange the N/A type lines to the turbo style, so they give you the tees instad of making those three-way caps. Mine was factory turbo, so I didnt need the tees, until I replaced return line O-rings and broke one of the three-way caps in the process... woops.
You can order a kit for the later style N/A, plus you'll need two tees, a plug and some clamps. You should also get Viton O-Rings and use them rather than those in the kit, and vaseline them before installing, or you'll end up bleeding out like you are now (or like I was the first 2 times I did it...)
