I just got it, like less than a week ago, no smoke, 184,401 miles, no idea on the gear ratio, still gotta pick it up which may take me a bit to accomplish (out of town) the tune-up I have no idea on, if it's on the same tune-up I helped him do then it's more than likely time for a tuneup.
I know it has F250 spring sets under the rear, unsure of any diff swap, but it's stiffer and i've watched it pull a loaded dump truck off the road to clear it for traffic, I know the 351's can be a dog, but i'm sure it's nothing like this
it sounds fine RPM wise and in a mechanical standpoint, but I just don't feel like I'm getting all 200hp outta it, more like 100, or less.
well right now it's got 33x12.50's in the rear and 31x10.50's in the front, I plan to even that out before taking it home with 2 31x10.50's to put in the rear.
That will help your performance and fuel economy. The 33s with stock gears which may or may not be very good could be why it lacks power. It definitely isn't helping it.
I was forced to run the same configuration on my old truck that this one has now (33's rear 31's front) since it was all I could do at the time, it ran rough with that setup, nothing like this, but I was very meticulous about that trucks servicing, unfortunately it paid me no justice, the transmission blew up on my birthday.
This truck drives the same, but with that gutless feel, I'll even out the ride, my other truck drove better with 33's, and frankly that's the largest I'd feel comfortable with unless I were to re-do the gearing and so on so forth to have a proper job.
