starts fine but won't idle

my 2000 f-250 starts fine but won't idle and if it does it's just barely (about 4-500 rpm's)

found problem

i went back and searched the threads and found a similar problem, turns out it's my iac valve, it sticks, when i tap on it the engine idles fine

Your IAC probably needs cleaning.

Also, hard to answer the question you did post when you don't provide any information on your truck.

problem solved

sorry about the lack of info, i'm new here, it was the iac, the plunger was stuck so i freed it up and cleaned everything good and now it works like new, thank goodness for ford forums
