efi cam install

preparing for a cam install next weekend and have a couple questions. im a bit confused about the timing gears. i want the cam straight up, its the crane 503901, is this cam ground "straight up"? without the factory 4 degrees retard? if so then the timing gears would go dot to dot. just need a little input on this. its in a 91. also from the efi guys, any issues with the knock sensor and metal gears? will be running cloyes set. thanks for the help!!!

The difference is in the gears, not the cam itself. The metal gears should be straight up, the fiber ones retarded. Just built mine with the metal ones. I haven't driven it much yet due to trans issues, but no issues that I can see. I used this same cam and seems mostly OK, but idle vacuum is a little low (14-15in.) Seems sluggish right off the line but I'm also having fuel pressure issues that I need to correct before I can say more. BTW, I also have the ridiculous 2.79 rear gears.
