Had Ford in Corning Ca. run a diag yesterday ad these codes came up. What I am experiencing is a loss of power and a loud "wooshing of air" sound coming into the cab under increased rpms.
Would you think that there could be a hole in the turbo hoses? What else could it be with this rush of air sound?
Could it be a P006b instead of 8??? EGR insufficient flow and loud whooshing of air screams y-pipe leak to me, but check all your turbo pipes. If it is a y-pipe you might see smoke coming from the back of the motor when you rev it.
these are the codes that the ford tech gave me so i would assume he is correct. what is the "y pipe/
the egr valve ws riight out of the box as i replaced it that very morning.
The y-pipe is the whole pipe assy that #1 in this pic is pointing to not just the expansion joints: http://www.backglass.org/duncan/ps60...l/ps60_011.jpg however it is usually one of the expansion joints that fails.
P0068 must be a new code for a diesel so I'll have to let someone else weigh in on that. The Ford master list says it isn't used on a diesel and P006B is an exhaust related code for a diesel.
When all else fails look at the receipt that has all the info on it, duh. P006A PO401. (have a coolant leak). It also states that it found code PO148 in memory. egr checked ok..
