engine id problem??????

sorry internet like my truck not going very well ive got two valve covers and theres eight bolts holding each down the intake manifold says edelbrock performer 351 4v i baught two valve covers for a v8 and they are too small so they must be for a 302 so my engine should be a 351 but looking at the pictures of the head gasket sets online they are all difrent

8 bolts means you have a 351m or a 400. It's larger than the 302 or 351w. You will see a lot of these type engines in the 70's cars and trucks. They quit making them around 1981 or 82.

sorry dave cant seem to find the section you meen but the parts are the same for the 351 and the 400 so thats a start needing a bit more than a gaskrt now seems the hydraulic lifter stopped lifting and the pushrod fell out and got bent under the intake manifold . didnt want to order any parts and they were all wrong as its a little harder for me to return them thanks for your help so far

thanks guys ive managed to find a set of second hand push rods and a gasket set just need to find a set of hydraulic lifters and im all set got. the heads off and the valves ground in cheers again
