i have a 94 f150 4x4 and having problem with the speed sensor i just replaced it with 1 from ford aftermarket one did not work well. so it is still not right computer code says insuff data back to control moduale my guess is i need to look at the wire from the harnass to the sensor and the other ? would be any special wire to use for replacement? thanks in advance to any thoughts on this
what is the speed control module and i forgot to say that the abs lite and brake lite are on with this problem
no cruise, abs/brake light on.... sounds like the brake light switch to me. Common problem on Mercedes but not for sure on your truck. Step on the brakes and see if your lights come on. if no light swap out the switch
ok i disconected the abs controller and the lites on the dash went out the trans shifts nice and the speed control works like it should. so i pulled the code from the abs sys and it is a code 4 rabs valve switch closed so what do i do now?
Test Code 4, Open/Grounded RABS Valve Reset Circuit
Description
Code 4 is generated by the module's detection of a resistance falling below 18k ohms (short) or above 26k ohms (open) in Circuit 535 (LB/R). This can indicate an open or short in the reset switch circuit, or a hydraulic leak into dump section of the valve.
Possible Contributing Base Brake Component/Vehicle Wiring Concerns
l Terminal backout in the module harness connector at Pin 6
l Terminal backout in the RABS valve harness connector at Pins 2 or 3
l Bulkhead connector (between engine compartment and instrument panel) terminal backout or loose connection
l Module or RABS valve connectors not fully matted with component
l Intermittent open or open circuit in Circuits 535 (LB/R), or 274 (BK/W)
l Intermittent short or short circuit in Circuit 535 (LB/R)
