Well it sounds like the starter may need to be load tested again...I replaced mine the other day, the old one passed the first load test, but failed the same test the second time he did it. Put a new re-build in from Auto Zone, 80 bucks lifetime warranty.
came home hooked the main power up hooked a jumper to the nose of it and grounded that to the bell housing turned the key..... and nothing.... jumped the solinoid nothing....
so whats left? i doubt i have gotten 2 bad starters in a row i have put 3 solinoids on there one of witch was brand new the other came off a runner
battery's good dropped in another truck fired it right up
I just went through the same problem, long story, but in the end it was the battery...Ford starters need a lot of juice from a good battery...maybe you could try it with a charger set to boost. The relay is near the battery, just trace the pos. cable to find it, then again if you changed the solenoid you already got it, they call it different names sometimes. You could check the ignition switch, and the P/N safety switch and the cables themselves
