First of all a big thank you to everyone! I got new gaskets yesterday and set them ontop of the old ones and they had a little smaller ports so I went and checked them against the headers and it was a damn near perfect match. I used hedman gaskets and put a thin layer of copper rtv around the ports on both sides and let it cure before I installed them. I also got a set of 3/4in long header bolts with 7/16 heads and that made it a hell of alot eaiser to instal. Started it up and let it come up to temp and im going to check the torque tomarow when I put on the collector gaskets, I did the same rtv trick on them. So far no leaks. That 390 sounds mean with open headers. I was also idleing at 1100 and dropped it down to 650, sounds like it has a mild cam. Tools used were, 7/16 ratchet wrench, socket, swivel socket, 3/8 ratchet and 12in extension. Im going to instal the collector gaskets tomarow and see what it sounds like with the 2 1/4in magnaflows that are dumped. Also got to change the front wheel cylinder! Again a big thanks to all who helped and I can only hope this post helped the next guy.

Reason: Typo
You could try Percy Soft Seal gaskets. They are pricey (~$40 pair) but are made of aluminum and thick, so when you torque down on them they deform and conform to the surface well. They are even supposed to be reusable.
To each their own, I have a pair of them. They leaked out of the pkg. They, the gaskets, had multiple bolt holes that were not used in my application, the gasket's did not seal between the head and the unused bolt holes bored in the gasket. You could see the black streaks betwen the gasket exhaust opening and the unused gasket bolt holes. They Leaked like a sieve and sounded like crap. I removed them and reversed them from side to side, and tried again, they still leaked.
I hated it, after paying about $40.00 bucks for those gaskets, but I used the headman gaskets that came with the headers. No leaks so far.
