I have a 97 ranger that I just bought and both the dome light and the cargo light don't work. I tried the WD-40 solution to no avail. I also checked the Haynes and Chilton manuals. Neither one showed either circuit in the wiring diagram. I pulled the door panel but can't get the latch out to remove the switch. Any ideas??? Anyone know of a dealer service manual?? I checked all the fuses on the drivers side of the dash also.
There is a guy on ebay selling manuals on a disk,,,, does anyone have any idea if they are any good.. also the local lib. here has Aldata on the puters there.... should have the info you need.... good luck
I checked for a short and found nothing. Also found that the 3rd brake light is not working. I wonder if a relay is involved. I will try the library and see if they have a proper and complete wiring diagram.
On another topic, does anyone have experience with removing oxidation?? I have a black paint job and I'm wondering if I start with rubbing compound then go to polising compound then wax?
I figured out my problem with the electronic 4X4, seems you have to stopped, foot on the brake and clutch to the floor to get it to shift to Low...... I was not pushing the clutch all the way in, did not step on the brake....... all I had to do was read the owners manual...LOL, glad your problem was an easy one
