D60 Locking Hub Roller Bearing

Need to find a small part... the cylindrical roller bearing in the factory manual locking hub for a Dana 60 axle. This may be the same part in D50. A roller disintegrated, and some other rollers twisted, so the bearing is toast. I prefer to avoid buying new hubs, but am having a devil of a time finding the part. The standard parts stores don't have it, and I can't find any listings or cross-references in Timken or SKF.

Any ideas for part number or sources?

Is it the needle bearing on the inside of the hub, on the wheel side of the u-joint? that is only roller bearing that I know of in the hub, other than the wheel bearings. If it is that bearing, the one I got for my D50 was pn bk6 at napa. It is a bearing kit and includes that bearing and the seal for the wheel side of the u-joint too. Hope this helps.

I only know of the inner and outter needle bearing as well.

If that is what you are referring, you can buy the bearing seperately. Also, you dont have to replace the hub if the bearing took a total crap on ya. The bearing runs against whats called "races". They are a surface sleeve that is pressed into the hub that the bearing rolls against. If the bearing shreds apart it may damage the Race sleeve, but thats no biggy, these races only run around $10.

Bearing clarification...

This roller bearing is in the manual locking hub assembly. Basically, it's a "pilot bearing" between the locking assembly and the outer end of the axleshaft.

It is not either of the tapered wheel bearings. It is not the axleshaft bearing that is just outboard of the axleshaft/spindle grease seal, and goes inside the spindle from the inner side of the knuckle. Bearing count is up to 3.

When you remove the locking hub assembly from the wheel hub, this bearing is inside the bore of the locking assembly. This is a 4th bearing.

I don't need to do anything with the wheel hub, or with the axleshaft. If I can find this bearing, I can rebuild the manua locking hub assembly, otherwise I need a new locking hub.

Hmmm, I was thinking of the spindle bearing as well. Guess I was wrong. Not familiar with the one you're talking about, but I'm certainly no expert. Somebody should have an exploded view of a D60 hub to help with identifying it.

My guess is you will need to get new lockouts. Maybe send a message to partsguyed and see if the parts available. I bet you have to buy a whole new lockout
