2001 E-250 7.3L

My father recently purchaseda van that has 740,000 miles on it for $500.00 . The guy that sold it is an old fiend of his and told him that nothing has ever been done to the motor. What do you guys think of this? The van still runs also a mechanic said that #1 injector was letting oil bypass causeing it to smoke.

I think I would start with a compression test and read the codes then go from there.

for $500 if it runs its a good deal. most new truck payments would be more than that for one month. as long as it runs two months imo it will pay for itself.
