I just noticed today that my truck has a slight engine surge. My battery is going down (dieing) and I was wondering if the computer or the alternator is telling my truck to rev a little in order to recharge the battery?
I plan to get a new battery tomorrow, plus a new fuel filter for good measure.
Just put in a new PCV. And the throttle plate area is clean.
And while I'm thinking about it, I will check the vacuum hoses too.
So, what do you think? Could it be the battery? Any other ideas?
Low voltage starves the ignition system and any other system that controls the engine. This is going to make it run erratic and eventually it will quit on you.
I put a new battery in and everything seems fine now. The engine does seem to be running smoother. I will put the fuel filter in the next time I change the oil.
