You can get "free" drinks most anywhere if you're gambling...trouble is that usually ends up costing more than if you just went in to the bar and bought them.
Camp out at a penny slot machine for a while...you might have to fight off a few blue-hairs to get one though
Just about any casino on the strip will give you drinks but if you want the chick to come back every five to ten minutes you will have to toss her a buck for each drink beer or mixed. My OL and I play penny ***** and once you see a drink chick just flag her down, stay in same area and she will always check on you as long as you through her a buck each time, we give 2 bucks for 2 drinks, if your drinking beer, a buck a bottle is cheap. Some casinos, check at the bar, they will sell you a huge pitcher for $6 draft beer, I love it, we go to vegas about 4 times a year and I do a solo motorcycle ride there each fall and spring. rooms have been free or really cheap the last few yrs. Its about 300 miles each way for me
Also, to buy at the bar will clean you out faster than the penny *****!
There's a lot more to look at than slot machines. If you drink like a fish, party in your room and walk the strip. Anywhere else and it'll cost ya. A buck a drink is fine for a tip.
Save your appetite until dinner and spend a little more on a good buffet at one of the new resorts(Wynn, Aria at City Center, etc).
Actually IIRC, the buffet at "M" resort might have self serve beer on tap. I know they did when they opened.

Yea the "M" still does beer and wine at their buffet. Thanks for the great info.
I'll be staying at one of the Harrahs hotels, They usually have free rooms, check them out 02gray. then we will take a cab down to that M place and check it out, have lunch with the free beer, may stay awhile so the cab is the way to go with the free beer and all, rooms are out of reach for a cheap bastage like myself.
It depends if your going to the new strip or the old one (down town) I go to vegas 3-4 times a year and everything is cheaper down town, the machines are even looser. But like others have said, tip the waitress and she will come back often, I always tip the first drink with $5, then $1 each after that. The bigger resorts on the main strip are most expensive but if you go to the older places like Tropicana, Flamingo, Bills, Imperial palace you can buy drinks for $4 or so at the bars.
If you really want to save go down to the south end of the strip, near the outlet mall and go to Lee's Discount Liquor, I always go there and stock up, a 1.75 litre of Sky vodka is only $19 so it's pretty cheap there, like costco prices. I was there a month ago for 5 days and you should have seen the look on the face of the Bellhop when we loaded the cart with all the liquor.
