I recently finished rebuilding my 7.3 diesel, had a small pinhole in #7 cylinder squirting water into it. The machinist determined it could have been due to a casting flaw. he had a couple of other machinist look at it also.
My problem is after I put in the crank the instructions told me to put the mark on the crank in the twelve o'clock position then aliagn the marks on the camshaft gear with the marks on the crank. Number one cylinder is in what I will call "mid-stroke". If anyone could verify that is the correct position of the cylinder with the two marks lined up, this would be very helpful to me in order to complete this rebuild and put the engine back where it belongs.
