hey i have a 1994 f150 with the 5.0L it has about 156K miles on it and recently my transmission began slipping. at first i thought it was just the vaccuum valves that were dirty so i bought some of the ford valve cleaner for about ten bucks at the store and that barely worked. it definetly shifts a little better, but when i hit the gas like pulling out on to a highway where i have to give her a little more gas than i would in town my transmission likes to slip again. My fluid is never burnt after this happens which makes me wonder. Symptoms: it will do neutral slips and rev really high until it will shift into the next gear, or it wont shift at all and i will have to drive it in second gear . Im thinking about just taking the pan off and cleaning the valves myself and then buying a new filter and just going from there to see if that works. but i dont want to do more work than i have to because my transmission my just be shot to begin with, or it could be something completely different, just thought i would get a little feed back from you guys. Thanx!

It sounds like the common MLPS problems to me. Check the TPS also.

I think you probably have a 4R70W, not an E4OD. Either way I think your tranny is shot and probably needs a rebuild. It doesn't sound like an MLPS to me.
