Just did an egr delete on my 2005 f250, started it up and still smoking, just thought there was still some antifreeze in the chambers and exhaust, but did remove the intake and had it cleaned. ran it for an hour and it did not overheat, and the smoke seems to be going away but for sure still there. The plastic air intake tube blows off when I accelerate. What have I done wrong?
Make sure you clean the tubes with some brake kleen before putting them back together. Some people say to spray hair spray on them right before you put it back together and clamp. I have had good results with just making sure they are super clean.
Thanks for the replies lads, did not tighten the clamps enough for the intercooler tubes, so that seems to have solved that issue. Thanks Cheezit, did know the coolant takes a while to burn off, but seems to taking much longer than any gasser I've worked on, trying to be patient and not worry about head gaskets at the same time it is encouraging that it is not overheating, guess I'll run it longer or thinking of drilling a hole in the muffler and cat. Thanks again Gents.

I feel like deja vu. I had the exact same thing happen, and after driving it for a bit, it cleared up with no issues since. Good luck!
