'04 EB strange noise...

Hello,

I have a clicking noise (Sounds almost like an antenna trying to go up after it's already up) coming from behind the left rear inside panel, next to the 3rd row of seats. I can also hear it on the outside of the car but not as loud. Any suggestions as to what could be making this noise?

Thanks for your help,
Dan

I'm not positive, but I think the antitheft control box is back there. Have you narrowed it down that its inside our outside as to where the nosie is?

The antitheft module is on the right side next to the second row of seats.

Does your Explorer have the rear HVAC?

You nailed it "shorod". It does have rear HVAC! This morning when the wife left for work she started the car, heard the noise, turned off the rear AC/blower motor and the noise stopped. Turned it back on and the noise returned. Now I need to start digging in and see if I can repair this issue. Thanks for your help.

There are other posts on this forum related to clicking from the rear HVAC. I want to say it's a blend door servo issue, but I might be getting confused with the common blend door servo issue in the front cabin. I don't recall if they are both related to the blend door. A good time to perform a forum Search I suppose.
