Thanks for the reply. I really need new tires, and I really like these. I am kind of torn between actually doing the prerunner thing on mine and lifting it, and just keeping the stock(ish) size tires. For me, I would like no more than 33s, but if I did them, I would want 3.73s. I can just keep the 3.55s and 31s for a lot less, and for ground clearance just shave the diff.

95 F-150 2WD
I have a stock 95 F-150 and I was wanting some opinions on what to do. I'm in a debate weather I should lift it 6inches and put 35's on it or just level it out and put 31's. opinions? Maybe some advice did pros and cons? Thanks, just joined and don't know how to create own thread so using this one.

Well, first a few things. There is a section just for your year truck, so more in-depth questions would be appropriate there. You can create a new thread by clicking on the "new thread" oval in the main section of any subcategory.
Now, as far as the lift question, it really depends on what you want the truck for. Lift and larger tires involve a lot more to work properly, like better brakes, gearing, possibly steering upgrades, etc. Evaluate what your real needs are and then consider what would really work for you.
Oh, and welcome to FTE!

Ok thanks Lot. Ill try that then. And as for the lift that's what I want, but the problem is all the other work going to be involved. I just don't know if that's worth it. I've always wanted this style truck. Perfer 4WD, but even with having a lifted truck I never have really been re person to take it out romping on it, that's usually what four wheelers would be for. Anyways I thank you for your help.

In some ways, a 2wd can be more fun than 4. I have the good fortune of having a job where I get paid to offroad. It's not hardcore offroading, but the interesting thing is that most people swear they need a 4wd, and I have a 2wd and go all over the place.
The recipe: good tires, locker, and weight in the back.

i had to pull a friend out of this sewer line today it was next to a creek i was in two wheel drive and the ground gave way started slippin into a ditch at one point switched it over to 4 and cruised right out no problem. 4 wheel drive can save your *** sometime.
Always loved seeing this truck.
79Hauler and ChaseTruck754 were the last two driving forces in me not converting my supercab to 4wd. I was teetering for a good while since the previous owner threw in 460-C6-205. Half the work was already done for the conversion haha. With a good driver, locker, and good tires, I havent had a need for 4wd(knock on wood). I know there will be a time that I'll be hooking up a strap and cussing myself out for not throwing a front axle in though.

**little update- after reading and some hints from Ted, replaced the leaking master cylinder and booster Friday night. the m/c leaked into the booster and ate it up. now she's back on the road, and able to stop without the frantic pumping action. I just went ahead and used the oem stuff, one day i'll switch to the F350 9" booster when I get one ton beams and dual piston brakes on.
