cracked lf axle
just got a 96 f250 hd 4x4. im in the process of rebuilding the front end. yesterday i pulled the ls apart to do ujoints and ball joints. the ujoint was siezed up and the axle is actually cracked., as well as the ujoint. something i had never seen before. where can i get one of these? is the jy my only option or does dorman or someone make these. i would rather not have to go through the dealer. thanks a lot!

You can buy new axle shafts... However there pretty pricey. I think LMC even sells them. With out looking I want to say there like 2 or $300 each. That's for both inner and outer shafts. What side do you need? Is it a D44 or D50? Inner, outer, or both?
Your best bet might be someone here close by or your local JY. Check craigslist maybe you can fine there as well.
