fuel tank problems.

ive been getting really bad gas mileage since i go my new trucck and i hough maybe i was the fuel injectors because ive changed a bunch of stuff and it still acts like its not getting enough fuel. i read somewhere on here on another post about when using one tank soem of the gas goes to the other? i didnt find much info on it though. something about either a valve, switch or the fuel pump?

heres what i did: i ran my front tank until my truck literally died on me and then i switched to the rear tank. ive been driving my rear tank and have gotten about 85 miles so far and it says i have about 1/4 of a tank left. tonight just a few mins ago i went out and switched it to the front tank which was supposed to be empty and let it idle there for about two minutes along wwith me revving i some and it did fine. also the las time i filled up my rear tank i only got 12 gallons? it was supposed to be empty? i know i read somewhere else about not being able to breath good enough and making the gas pump think its full when its not so i havent got to look at that yet.

any ideas? any other tests i should try?

It sounds like the valve isn't completely changing the fuel . . . maybe it was drawing from the rear tank and returning it into the front. That's just my guess.

I'm pretty sure that AutoZone or Advance carries the valves. It should be a 6-port . . . around $90 or so. I'm not too sure what the best way is to test it, but someone here will probably know.

Not on a 95, it has a FDM (fuel delivery module) in each tank, that includes the pump and gauge sender.. The bad valve is in the FDM..

Ah, sorry, my bad. I had that problem with my 1990 F250 . . . and I assumed the 1995s still had that same setup.

Well, I learned something today. Thanks guys. :-)
