Pulled her out for the very first time this year! Woo Hoo!
Counting the camping stickers on the windshield this is the 8th year with the X. Wish I could of owned one since new, that would have been nice. I still couldn't afford a low mile 7.3. But I love mine! Puts a smile on my face every time I get to drive it! Especially pulling an excavator!

Ordered a new AC condenser to replace the one that failed on the last trip and five 5 quart jugs of Mercon V. Since I'll be in there changing out the condenser I figured that I may as well also swap in the new 6.0 trans cooler that I've had sitting here for a while, will do a trans flush too since its over due.
Last weekend hauled to NY and back. Noticed some spots on the front of the trailer. Oil leak....Im fairly sure its the front oil cooler gasket. Cleaned everything really well and drove it a bit, seems to be where its leaking. So, started looking at leaks....will be R&R'ing the cooler this weekend, also need to replace the PS pump (leaking) and rebuild the hydroboost unit. Ordered the seal kit for the oil cooler and the HB but waiting for the PS pump. Will do them together though.
After cleaning the front oil cooler area, I notice the supply/return fuel lines are there as well. Mine look kind of rusty. I understand they are a complete b**** to replace. I'll wait on those but will pick them up with some extra cash when I can. Should do the top lines while Im at it I guess.
Ugh, its getting old......

2 years ago the flex hose on the trans line started to leak. I replaced the hard line with one from the dealer. It was an easy repair and I noticed my trans cooler hoses looked tired as well. No leaks yet, I think the best way to fix these is to remove the front bumper to access the hoses. Haven't done mine yet and maybe someone who has will chime in, just my thoughts on the easiest way to accomplish it.
Question: With hydro-boost, do I need to use power steering fluid or can I use ATF??
Edit: Wow, the manual says Mercon ATF for the power steering system.
